Questions About Beginning Therapy

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're struggling with something that affects your daily life, relationships, or wellbeing, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis. Therapy is for anyone who wants support navigating difficult emotions, situations, or patterns. During your free consultation, we can discuss whether what we offer aligns with what you need.

  • What happens in the first session?

Your first session is an assessment where we learn about your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. We'll ask about what's bringing you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping will change. You'll also have a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right. By the end, we'll have a preliminary plan for how to move forward.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

The easiest way is to fill out the contact form on our website or call us directly. We'll respond within 1-2 business days to schedule your free 15-minute consultation. From there, if we're a good fit, we'll schedule your first full session at a time that works for you.

  • What should I prepare before my first session?

You don't need to prepare anything specific. Just show up ready to talk about what's been going on. If you've been in therapy before or have relevant medical records, you're welcome to bring those, but it's not required. We'll guide you through what we need to know.
