With over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, John's focus is on helping his clients identify and implement the changes they need in order to reduce their suffering and develop the ability to survive and thrive. While you can't control what life throws at you, you can improve your ability to respond to the present moment in a skillful way, find your balance again, and get back up on your feet.
John helps his clients find their inspiration and turn it into sustainable action plans that help them grow and discover hope and success. One of the main tools he teaches is mindfulness-- which helps in finding presence in the moment and achieving what you set out to do. Mindfulness can be a foundation of finding peace and working toward sustainable change. John works with individuals with a history of substance use, family discord, relationship issues, communication difficulties, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and stress.
John works with adults in our Goshen office. His background experience includes working for many years with young adults and adults struggling with substance abuse in Rockland County, NY.
John works from a strengths-based approach. His philosophy is to look at each individual with a unique perspective. He is down-to-earth, practical, has a dry sense of humor, and interacts well with people. His goal is to engage clients into learning who they are, why they make certain choices, and how they can improve their sense of self, self-esteem, relationships, and communication patterns.
